![]() ![]() At he moment bfm is essentially a straight pull of our migration code in 3.x to its own project, longer term Its hopped it will fill in a lot of other needs that have been requested in the past (such as moving files between schemes) that are not actually inside the responsibility of a s3fs and should be their own independent project (such as per field file migration) We are moving the code for this into its own project that is not s3fs specific (will work with all of Drupal) to fill this need, see Bulk File Management (it will have a tagged release before 4.x has a stable) for the intended replacement. (which should not be used currently on any production level site, its still in VERY early development and doesn't even have a published alpha release) You don't have to migrate existing files if you are not doing public/private takeover, they can be served from the existing local storage and new files can be configured to be stored on s3://. Note this is for copying entire schemes over to S3FS, we don't support per-field migration.
